Environmental protection

EOS supports the Otto Group's climate protection strategy that pursues the Paris Agreement goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 °C. Together we work on implementing targeted measures.

Our contribution to climate protection

(Reduction of Environmental Footprint)

Together with the Otto Group, EOS is working on reducing emissions to net zero in the long run. The Otto Group is currently developing a science-based climate goal (based on the Science Based Targets Initiative, SBTi). The joint climate protection strategy is to fully comply with the 1.5-degree Celsius goal of the Paris Agreement.

Projects for the environment

Thanks to a collaboration with provider atmosfair, EOS has been offsetting its CO2 emissions for business trips since 2021. This supports the climate protection project “Small biogas plants in Nepal”.

Moreover, in 2022 and 2023, employees across the group were asked to report on their commitment to sustainability. To thank them, the EOS Group has planted 1,000 trees to date in collaboration with Bergwaldprojekt e.V.

EOS France Reforestation Project

As part of its commitment to protecting the environment, EOS France has been developing the ‘Let's Plant Trees’ initiative since 2022, following a competition to gather ideas.

The ‘Let's Plant Trees’ initiative aims to take concrete action to protect the environment, enabling everyone to play a part in this change.

For each new employee, a tree is planted in their name when they become a permanent member of staff.

This symbolises not only their integration into our team, but also our collective commitment to the environment.

Subsequently, each employee can contribute to the planting of additional trees based on their length of service with the company.

Reforestation plays a crucial role in combating climate change, preserving biodiversity and improving air quality. By participating in this initiative, we are contributing to a positive impact on our planet and a better future for generations to come.

Since the launch of this initiative, we have planted more than 1,500 trees.

More specifically, in 2025, we managed to plant 316 trees. Each tree represents a step towards a more sustainable future and a contribution to reforestation.

Greenhouse gas assessment

Each year, EOS France assesses its greenhouse gas emissions for all its activities across all five sites: Paris, Lille, Nantes, Pau and Papeete (Tahiti).

This assessment includes all GHG emissions (scopes 1, 2 and 3):

Direct emissions
Significant indirect emissions: energy, transport and purchased products

For the 2024-25 financial year, EOS France's GGE amounts to 6,124 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent.

External green datacenter

L'utilisation de datacenters verts

EOS France moved its servers to an external green data centre located close to Lille, in northern France. This cheaper and greener solution uses only a third of the energy that conventional hosting would. The data centre itself was built using materials and devices that consume less energy. Its more northerly location gives it an average local temperature of 14°C, which is an ideal climate for sustainable use.
